Folder Making tutorials
Is there anymore COMPLETE folder making tutorials out there ? I use Rays site and I know Don has a book thats reasonably price that shows his way. I just want to see the other ways there are to make them. Maybe someone should step up ? Us newbies would love to see another complete tutorial on a lockliner
thanks ! Dave |

Bob Terzuola's book, The Tactical Folding Knife, is great. I've seen it everywhere for about $15-$20. Loads of pictures, tons of info, and an easily read conversational style similar to Wayne Goddard's books. I highly recommend it if you've got a couple sawbucks hanging around.

Although there are no liner lock tutorials there, have you checked out the "Workshop" link at the very top of this page. A number of nicely-done tutorials up there well worth seeing...

I came across the following site awhile back...It's by Belgium maker Filip De Coene and it has some interesting content, including a well-done liner lock tutorial.
Before you click on the link below I should tell you that the site is set up rather strangely...If you go by the subject headings at the top of the page you're likely to think that much of the content is missing. But if you click on the subjects running along the right-hand side of the page you'll find a lot of interesting info, pics, etc. http://custombladeworks.wordpress.com/ Dennis |

Those are some good links, but most of the ones I find are outdated and dont work. There were several of the non-working ones on all the stuff that was posted here. I do have Bobs book but its hiding from me right now. I ll work with those for now.

Along with the liner lock I would like to see a tutorial on making a friction folder.

Dave, I've been very sick following surgery, but I've read a few of the troubles you're having with linerlocks, such as locating and installing the detent, locating the stop pin, etc. All these things are covered in great detail in the book "My Way". If you had obtained a copy of the book, you wouldn't be having these problems. Sorry to be so blunt, but it's the truth. |
