Are knifemakers using liquid nitrogen or another cryogenic liquid for blade tempering?

Where do you buy the equipment for this? Welding supply or ?

Look in the Knife and Supply For Sale -General items and bargains, there's a dewar for sale there.

You can buy a dewars flask at your welding supply house. They'll order whatever one you want. Sometimes, you can work a deal on the LN2 price if you go this route.
You can sometimes get a good deal off ebay.
