Extras from Dad's Christmas Gift

Since it didn't pay to start up the kiln for just one knife so I worked at knocking out a couple more with my Father-in-laws knife. Just got two of the others done so I thought post them.

There wood working knives for marking instead of pencils. Top one is cocobola and the bottom one is kuri. They are sharpened to a single bevel.

Looks nice Jim! What steel did you use on them? I gather one of them are a Christmas gift for you father-in-law, I am sure he will love it.

Thanks both.

The steel is CPM-154. Actually these are the extras. His is still needing finishing. I got one with some of the USS Constitution wood for the handles and is a little smaller due to his smaller hands. He will appreciate the wood as he is former Navy as well.

These two (with the other two still pending handles) will end up for sale later.

Now that is what I am talking about. That is great, I can not see one reason that he would not like that. Nice job Jim.

Looks like I made some sculpture, again.

He opened it and after I told him what it was he said "And you think I'm going to take this down to the basement (shop)."
