Newest Folder

Here is a folder that I just finished. Something I haven't done before...it's more or less a tactical version of my Prot?g? model. Belt finished ATS-34 blade, bead blasted 416-SS bolsters, linen Micarta scales, titanium stand-offs, stainless clip.

Still working on my photography, getting better, but a long way to go.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Johnny-

A very handsome version of your classic folder...

Man, but you sure do some nice hollow grinding...Belt finishing the blade turned out real sweet! How thick is that blade for that grind to show up so well (or is that some of your trick photography?)

I think you've got a real winner on your hands...can't imagine that not going over with the tactical crowd.

Yeah Baby!

Great work Johnny, I love your stuff. What size wheel did you use for the hollow grind?

Thanks for the feedback guys. Sorry for the delay in replying, I've had a student this week and not much time on the computer.

The blade 1/8" thick ATS-34 ground on a 10 inch. I've found that on any blade over 1/2 inch high I switch from my 8 inch wheel to my 10 inch, and sometimes to my 14 inch. It gives me a better grind and works for me.

I don't do a lot of Tacticals, but this one seems to be quite popular so far.

Dennis, I'm not good enough yet to show my trick photography to the public, but stay tuned in the future.

Bill, come by the shop and we'll convert this to a slip joint!!

I'm liking these dressy tacticals. This one sets the pace.

Johnny, you got me runnin' scared, now...! Good photo work.

I'm also struck by the same things that the others have mentioned. The belt finished grind goes very well with the overall theme and gives it a real "grunt" effect. Its clear you know how to make it look "tactical" and make it look it well !Jason.
