Pattern Pieces
Dear Sirs:
We are working with 3 + ounce steerhide leather for leather jackets. What material would you recommend to make pattern pieces out of? A knife will be traced around each pattern piece. Thank you, Chris |

I usually don't make patterns I just keep the basic shapes in my head and draw out a holster for each knife. But when I do make templates I use Masonite
Or thin pieces of wood |

I've always been partial to using file folders. as long as the spine is at the crease of the page you can get perfectly symmetrical sides.

I suspect that Bigcountry was referring to patterns that he expects to keep and use many times. Obviously, file folder material has a limited life span. __________________ God bless Texas! Now let's secede!! |
