Brass liners

Has anyone used a brass door kick plates for liners? I have some thick and thin plates.

Probably. If it isn't nailed down too hard some knife maker has used it. I don't have much doubt that you could use it if you want to. There are many alloys of brass, however, and some are much harder and polish up with different shades of color than others. A little testing when using unknown materials is usually a good idea ...

I have a couple of solid brass kick plates that i use for spacers and liners...they work great and seem not to tarnish as readily as
barstock brass i buy from jantz.....make sure they are solid brass and not coated steel...

Guilty as charged...

The one I have seems to be pretty hard, springy, for brass... probably work-hardened for it's previous life.

That's funny that you asked this question lol. My uncle just gave me two nickle plated brass kick plated from an Eatons building that got renovated on the mid 70's

Have two in the shop that I bought from a flea market. Not sure if it is brass or closer to bronze but worked for spacers.
