Not a knife, but it still takes fire and hammers.
Hi guys,
This is what I have been doing until I can get a forge and shop set up. I find it alot of fun and very relaxing. I really need to work on my soldering techniques, but for only the second time ever soldering, I can't complain. whv,
Yes, it's copper. Both are made of two sets of petals cut to shape. I used a ball pean hammer to texture the petals and leaves. Most of the shaping is done cold, but I add some character to the petals as I heat color them. The Iris had some gaps between the petals, so the solder was also used as filler. Overall as a first attempt, I'm rather pleased. I am also working on a propane bottle temple bell. I'll post a picture when I'm done. (The toughest part of that was getting up the nerve to safely remove the valve.) I hope to use this new found skill/hobby to do some craft shows. Very nice Pam, it's amazing what can be done with a forge and hammer. Look forward to seeing the bell.
