Viking Dagger - Finished Handle?
The first one is the same straight tapered original handle but I added some sterling silver ferrules.
The second picture is the new handle I have roughed out and I am debating if it helps to make the gaurd flow better. I am also trying to decide if I want to add ferrules to this one or leave it plain. Are the silver ferrules too bright for the knife? Your honest opinions are needed to help me make this knife a real "keeper." Thanks again for your help, now lets hear it. |

First a comment that I like the entire project. As usual from you!
My thoughts were that I would have liked the ferrules, and you did just that. I think it adds balance and transition. Secondly, I also think that the shape of the second set helps to make the guard look in proportion. Good work, no matter what you decide. Thanks. Coop |

I thought it said Viking dagger - Finnish handle .
I like the silver ferrules. The second handle definitely looks better to me. It helps to balance out the looks. The silver would look nice on this one as well. Outstanding blade! I have yet to get one of those to come out right! |

I also like the 2nd handle better. I think the ferrules would go with this handle as well. Great Job all around. That is one sweet dagger!
