My grandpa's knife

This is probably the oldest knife I own. I got it in the mid 60s from my grandmother. About all she told me was that it was my grandfather's and that he had made it himself. As far as I know he didn't make any others. There are no markings on the blade or what is left of the sheath so I assume he did in fact make it. If anyone has any ideas about whether this is a production knife, I'd like to hear them.

That is a slick looking knife. Not your average one off homespun looking piece. It seems to show an artistic flow that usually comes after making several knives. If I had seen this knife without knowing the history, I would have assumed it was a a composite piece, made from a couple different knives. a factory made blade with an imitation stag handle from a kitchen knife, and a homemade alum. guard. Pics can be decieving. Is the handle real stag?

Very nice knife. It's always great to have the history of any knife, especially when it belonged to someone in the family. If only these knives could talk....
