i think what you need to do is edit them to a smaller size. i use adobe photoshop to do this but its a feature in most photo editors. it will be listed as "resize image" or "image size" something along those lines. doing this will reduce the quality of the picture. if you havent already done so try cropping the photo...this trims things out of the photo you may not want there (such as if the knife wasnt centered you can trim one edge of the photo off) this really helps reduce the size of the file.

if you need photo software try going to www.downloads.com that site has free trial/shareware software for just about any application.

If you have Microsft XP, you can download an image resizer power tool.

Now when I need to make a photo file size smaller, I'll browse to the image file with My Computer or Microsoft Explorer, right click on it and a menu will pop up with "resize photo". You can resize several photos at once without having to open special photo software. Very handy.

I use Photoshop LE. When I resize a photo they ask what quality I need. On some of the photos I put up, even at 620 it would not work. I went back to Photoshop and saved it a lower quality. That worked.

Good Luck,

A.T.

Download a copy of irfranview. The basic package is free and it will do all sorts of editing very easily.

If you have Adobe Photoshop you can click on "Save for web" in the "File" drop down menu. Then you can chose the size and quality that you want and save the image. I find that this function works quite well. The size of the image files can be greatly reduced and still look decent on the web.
