Bulino engraving

This is my third attempt to make bulino engraving, I'm not sure if I' doing right. I would appriciate any comments , both bad and good.
I have not made any coloring of the engraving and it is very difficult to take some good photos, how do I do that  .

The work is a commisioned work for Anders Hedlund

The steel is Damasteel with a snakewood handle, the bolster is acidresistant stainless steel. Anders Hedlund is a really good knifemaker and the knife itself is really cool .

The sheath is chipcarved in leather, also an really impressive work. Look at all the details!!

Re: Bulino engraving

viveca, your bulino is great,i dont see anything wrong with the composition except for the fact that you may want to add background or darken the background to make your subject more pronounced and dramatic looking, overall you did a awsome job

Welcome Viveca!

The tigers, as well as the whole package, look fantastic.
Well done!

Here's a link to the...Photography Studio .

There's a lot of great information on fine-tuning your picture taking skills there.

Glad to have you here, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Tim

Thank you very much for your replies.

Wayne, of course, there was something missing and when you mentioned it, the I knew what. Thanks.

Tim , thanks for your photo tip .

I'm glad that you both like my work, but I'm still a beginner in working with steel. I do hope to make improvements and I think that I have some help from my scrimshaw, the techniques are almost similar. It's the material that differs and I'm becoming fascinated of the steel.
