Looking for bronze sheet.

Hello all,

I'm looking for a source (preferably online) of thin bronze sheet, in relatively small quantity.
Just received a CD with great pictures of excavated Viking period knives, and planning to make a more or less close reproduction of one of them. It looks like all of them had sheath mountings made of thin bronze sheet (looks like about 0.5 mm in pictures). Brass would look too "modern", and I couldn't find bronze so far. In the worst case, I could go with copper (which I think is available), but only as the last resort.

Thank you.
Alex.

Great, I will go over there and check them out. Sounds like they have not only bronze, but other metals I could use... maybe some fine silver wire for inlays and wrapping Viking knife handles.

Alex.

Alex,

Thanks for asking this. I just got the same CD and have been thinking along the same lines. I have started drawing the blade I want from some of the examples, trying to get one that I like that is represenitive of one in the collection. Remember to post pictures when you are done.

Thanks,
--Carl
