440C or ATS-34 Stop Pins
Where can I purchase hardened 440C or ATS-34 Stop Pins?

I was interested in this myself and looked into it a while back. It turns out no one has these things in stock but I can have them made by a local company. They take rod stock and cut the pieces off to your length requirement and the cost was something like .30 per piece plus the cost of the material, minimum of 1000 pieces or so. It wasn't too bad but I did not pursue it.
Ken Onion suggested that the hollowchrome pins or whatever it is that he uses have never rusted in all his years on Hawaii. My pins have never rusted either so I decided that the 18-8 SS pins from MSC are probably good enough for the time being. |

Well, I don't know. I can mushroom the ends of an 18-8 pin a little bit if I beat on it with a hammer so it could be harder I suppose.....I'll look back into those pins and let you know AT.
