Mike,
Thanks for the offer, but I need 1 inch wide for a ferrel that fits a great pc of elk horn. I dont know why but all the suppliers are stocking 3/4 inch wide material and no longer stock 1 inch. I also cant find any round nickle silver that is 1 inch. Guess I will have to switch to stainless. My lathe has a rough time with it. It amazes me, the politeness of people on this forum and the help that people like you offer. If I would have said yes you would have taken the time out of you schedule to help a fellow knifemaker. This is a great place to be. Thanks. Dan www.theknifemaker.com |

You might try Sheffield, and if they don't have barstock, maybe they have a 6"x6"x3/8" sheet, or something similar.
If you go with stainless steel, get 416, it's not bad to work with. At least compared to the 300 series. http://www.sheffieldsupply.com/ __________________ Mike |

Don,
Thanks for the offer but I found it in sheets at Sheffield. Again, it amazes me the help that you guys offer. Now if I can just get the knife together without any "murphy's". Dan www.theknifemaker.com |

You can make a knife without any "Murphys"????
I'm lucky if I can get away with only a half dozen.... I guess I better keep up with my practice. Mike __________________ No Chance, No Dance |
