gunner & Don,

Thanks for the comments, although very basic in design it was fun to do.

Thanks

Geoff,

Maybe it?s just me, but I like basic. While I do like some of the ornate knives I?ve seen, I really enjoy the lines of a basic, usable knife.
I'm new to this game but that knife if far and above my skill level. I was just looking at the pictures again and I see that you followed the file work all the way around the bottom of the tang. Do you have any pictures of the knife along the bottom edge of the knife? I'd really be interested in seeing it.
Thanks for positing the pics.

Dumb Question

In the photo, it looks like the filework is dark. Did you use some kind of enamel to achieve that, or is it just something in the way the photograph developed?

Craig,

Here is a picture of the bottom, it does go all around the tang. I ground my first blade about eleven months ago so am new to knife making as well.

Dave,

The epoxy was dyed black when I set the scales. The shadowing on the blade is a result of poor lighting, I am beginning to think getting a good picture is harder than getting a clean grind.

Thanks,
Geoff

I think the picture came out fine, I just didn't know what I was seeing. I didn't notice shadows, I was speculating on why the dark areas are dark.... I think the knife is cool, great job!
