New fighting bowie from flatwoods forge
We started with a 1.5" x 1/4" x 18" piece of 1084 stock. after shaping with a lot of forge work, sanding polishing, etc, we ended up with a long, light fighting bowie. Specs are 19 1/4" overall. 13.5" blade. 12.25" cutting edge. 1084 steel hidden tang blade. 5160 hand guard, Burmese Rosewood handles. Weight is 21 oz. Its fast and quick, and should be a good fighter. Without further ado, the pictures
My old man doing some beating, helping me shape it. Two weekends worth of work, not to bad. Me and my dad posing for some pictures. |
