Fly fishing anyone?

This is my lateset knife off the bench. I have a friend who runs a local banquet for trout unlimited every year and he likes to have a knife to raffle off so here is this years that i made up for him.

Blade is o-1 tool steel.

Handle is a burl wood not sure what type came out of a grab bag of wood. There is a copper and a black spacer between the steel and the handle.

Hand rubbed finish 600 grit.

Sheath has a inlay of fake wool in it to hang fly's off of for the fly fisherman in mind.

I tried to keep this one simple!

Let me all know what you think

Thanks

Ross

Sweet knife Ross.
Someone will be a lucky winner with that as a raffle prize.

That's a nice knife and a nice idea for that drying patch. What flies did you use in the photograph?

Sam,

I have no idea what kind of flies they are...i just started getting into fly fishing this year and if the fly does look like an ant or a grass hopper i am lost. THe one is all orange...and hackles sticking out all over the other is smaller and yellow with a brown head...also some hackels near the front...dont know if that helps or not. I picked them because they were bright and stood out for the picture/

Thanks for the kind workds guys

Ross
