Sandy Morrissey rides again...

Several years ago I bought a nice Colt 1908M .380 auto from Kid_Sopris on the ColtForums that included this custom made sheath by Constanza of Nevada:

I sent it to my good friend and master leathersmith, Sandy Morrissey and asked him to make a double mag pouch and belt for it; but I always grant him artistic ####### to do what he wants considering he's been tooling leather since his airplane crash during WWII. (He as a Navy Pilot and was cut out of his wrecked aircraft; the doctor recommended leatherwork for rehab - the rest is history) Here is what he has sent me; worthy of being worn to the BBQ:

Thank you Sandy

Go Dad!
Note: Sandy would have been one of the exceptional few as a non-commissioned Naval Aviator if the accident had not happened. I think there were only a couple of thousand that made that grade.
He is the "Real Deal" and a treasure to all that know him.
I've got one of his plain janes for my 1911. Another treasure from WWII (it was my dad's issue sidearm).

That is one beautiful rig. Hard to find anyone doing that style of carving any more. (free hand)

We would all be hard pressed for time enough to say all the good things about Sandy..............but he is still and Old Fart!

Sandy, mark your calendar and get ready for Blade 2012. Your room will be waiting.

Paul

I know I'm just a "kid" around you two Paul, but my grandkids think I'm pretty much getting close to the OF stage.....I've already made top rank as a Grimy Poot!

Just think - at one time you guys were around and I wasn't......then all the sudden I was half you age......now I'm almost your age......closing in fast! Enjoying most of it but it is a quandry for the aging.

Wow!! All my adopted sons showing up on one post---things don't get any better! Tim, my son; John, my son; Jack, my son; Carl, my son;-------You are all family to me!! Paul, I consider you as a brother as I am not ancient enough to have sired you even through my voluntary adoption of the people I love. You are more like a twin brother as we share the same birth date within hours even though you were 10 years late in making it a reality. My thanks to all of you was recently celebrated over turkey and you know that you are wished the best of the New Year and the Christmas season that are nearly upon us!

I have every expectation of sharing the accomadations with you at the 2012 Blade extravaganza, Paul.

Sandy------the o o o o l d fart
