no specifis forums here...
Blade geometry and edge geometry are both relevent to intended use of knife edge; such as knife for fine slicing would be different than edge and blade designed for chopping..

With that said... what type blade and what is it inteneded purpose? Maybe that will help generate some responses.

Thanks, Mike. I am interested in improving my general sharpening skills and impliments, mostly for use in home/kitchen. My knives are toooo mundane to mention here. Right now my new waterstones (800, 4000, 6000) are frustrating me. Aftere re-profiling a slicing knife, I can't achieive any sharpness on my 800 grit waterstone. I am eager to proceed to the 4000 and 6000 grits but the knife just isn't there yet. Perhaps I should try an expensive bottled water.
