Exclamation Fantastic knives to be auctioned at BLADE Show

Impressive, I mean REALLY IMPRESSIVE.

Board of Director's Knife 2004
The board knife was forged by Bill Moran, ground by Greg Neely. Fancy file work done by Joe Keeslar and heat treatment by
Jim Batson. The blade was hand finished by Bert Gaston, the metal sheath fittings were made by Jerry Fisk, the sheath made by Jay Hendrickson. Handle was made by Rick Dunkerley. Steve Dunn assembled the guard and did the ngraving on the sheath and guard. It is a truly masterful piece

**********
The other ABS knives to be auctioned at the BLADE Show in June are also very impressive. Check them out at the following link: http://www.americanbladesmith.com/auction2004.htm

Reactions? Anybody else as blown away as I am?

The bid is now up to $6,000 for the Board of Directors knife and two additional colaboration knives have appeared on the ABS site. Even though the prices may get quickly out of reach for us mere mortals, click on the link above and just go feast your eyes.

These are just terrific efforts on the part of some very talented people! Is there no limit on the degree of creative expression that can go into a knife?

Buddy,

I guess you forgot to mention Jerry Fisk on the sheath fittings.

It is a great knife.

Here in Brazil we are thinking about a project just like it for next year. The first SBC (Brazilian Bladesmiths Society) knife. We have a national show in October so I guess this will be discussed there.

If you like daggers (and who dosen't?), this looks like a pretty special collaboration:

To quote the ABS site concerning the above blade: "Master's Dagger made collaboratively by Bruce Bump, Sava Damalovac, Heather & Kevin Harvey and Mike Vagnino"

This is one (below) that I don't seem to be able to get off my mind. Can't wait to see it in person at the BLADE Show in Atlanta. Quote ABS: "ABS Mastersmith Knife 2004 by Bill Dietzel" Current bid is $1,500.
ABS states that the high on-line bid will be the beginning bid at auction in Atlanta.

Bid is now up to $8,000 on the ABS Board of Directors knife! Wonder how high it will go. I tried to find information on sale prices for past ABS Board knives and struck out - anybody know?

Here's a picture of the Master Folder byRoger Massey, MS. Current bid is $1,000. Sure looks like a fine piece of work. The ABS site says the following about it: "Samuel Bell Folder, 320 layer Damascus 1084 and 15N20 in a ladder pattern, etched and hot blued. Checkered ivory with 24 carat gold pins. 24k gold inlaid bolsters."

Bid on the 'Samuel Bell' Master Folder by Don Massey has bumped up to $1,200!

I like this knife: "ABS Journeyman Knife 2004 by Robert Rossdeutscher - Stylized fighter forged from 5160.
Handle is stabilized California buckeye burl with mosaic and brass pins, double forged curls on the pommel." Current bid is $300 which happens to be my bid. Don't anybody else bid on this one, please! It will surely be the only one I have a prayer of affording!
