Tactical/ self-defense forum?

I hope this is the right spot to post this.

I know that this site is mostly about making and collecting knives, but could we get a tactical forum here?

How many others would be interested in this?

I don't really like specializing/diluting the forums too much. I think what we end up seeing is a lot of sub-forums that see very little activity, where combining that activity into a broader scope will keep things flourishing.

I agree with Cap. The forums here are generally set up in such a way to facilitate the process of knifemaking, no matter the type, rather than focusing our discussion on aspects of a particular style of knife (i.e. we don't have a hunting knife forum, a utility knife forum, a Nessmuk forum, etc.). There are other forums that have groups/sub-forums dedicated to particular knife styles. From what I've observed, they are usually populated by a few makers and lots of groupies, many of whom have opinions about that particular style, but really don't contribute much else to the understanding of the knifemaking process. I'd really hate to see The Knife Network go that direction.

Other opinions may differ. If this thread generates a lot of debate then you might want to consider starting a new thread with a poll to see what everyone thinks.

to be honest that will most likely attract people who are looking for how to use knives on people... thus bringing a bad light over the beauty of knife making, its a good idea but i doubt it will work how you hoped
