I'll see what I can do with the camera this weekend to slap some other examples on here without taking up the whole thread....

Zen.., Louie.., everyone starts from somewhere.., and if you think about it.., they'll all be back out on the market at some point ~~> hopefully not because some of us are standing outside 7-11 Stores with signs reading....."Homeless Veteran with Balisongs for Sale"....

Heck, some of you younger guys have the opportunity of a lifetime as far as Collecting Balisongs in this new era, simply because this is a totally unprecedented time related to the number of talented makers and Balisong designers that are out there currently.

It's always fun (and interesting) to see the roots of the knife in this country, and of course Jody was a huge part of that in terms of raising the bar beyond anyone's expectations at the time. It is also good to remember that Jody never did (and still doesn't), consider himself a maker of Balisongs, and never made handles at all. For that reason he will always remain a talented inigma that contributed through his innovative profiling.

Bottom line.., you guys are both off to fantastic starts.., and there is so much nice stuff to WANT now.., it frankly amazes me. I'm sure some of the other older members of the Balisong Community feel the same way ~~~~> SO MUCH GOOD STUFF!

By getting started now.., you will be the major collectors and Balisong enthusiasts of the future ~~> no doubt at all about that. Building your knowledge base through Forums like this one is the key.

And Zen.., your site is really coming along....great job!

Guys-

GREAT THREAD!!! GREAT FORUM!!!

I was pretty much introduced to the world of knives through the CKDForums (now of course aka KnifeNetwork), and they have been home to me for the past two years (I've only just recently begun to tiptoe into the "other" forums...and it's mostly been the other balisong forums I've been visiting). So it's especially great seeing these balisong forums take off...right here in my own "backyard"...so to speak.

This thread, and all of it's photos (and accompanied discussion) is very much like an exciting (and educational) history lesson...I love it!!! Keep it coming!!!
