Little fighter from Kirby Lambert

One of my favorite knifemakers, Canadian Kirby Lambert, just sent me a few shots of a sweet little fighter he'll be introducing at the CKG Fall show. It's called "The Claw".

Here are the specs (supplied by Kirby):

Blade material: CPM S-30v
Blade length: 3.5 inches
Bolster material: 6al/4v titanium
Handle material: Carbon fiber
Handle length: 4.25 inches
Liners: 6al/4v titanium (blasted, anodized)
Backspacer: 6al/4v titanium post construction (blasted, anodized)
Pocket clip: 6al/4v titanium (blasted, anodized)
Thumb stud: 6al/4v titanium (blasted, anodized) with Hematite inlay

What do you folks think? Should he bother making more than one?

not my cup of tea, holger, but should be a popular design among the tactical folks.
.
he might want to make a couple - one to sell and one to show. a demo knife is often the best advertising for taking orders.

I'm curious------

What feature makes this a "fighter" and gives it a character not possessed by other folders? Or is it that it would have no other use? Reese Wieland, jr. made a similiar folder he called "The Raptor" Both knives are beautifully executed by peerless craftsman but their function eludes me other than the possibility of being a fancy linoleum cutter----

Actually, I might have to take the blame for calling it a "fighter".

I guess it was the overall design of the knife that influenced my description. Personally, I don't really pay attention to such "classifications". (One man's art folder is another man's fighter - right, RL? )

Kirby sent me those pics a month or 2 ago too... I ended up ordering a Framelock version of it with CF overlays.

Thats a nice looking knife, wicked blade. Its nice to see something that is somewhat unusual (ok, its not unique, but not run-of-the-mill either).

As for being a fighter...well it does have a very aggresive blade design, good for ripping something up pretty bad, a nice semi-guarded finger grove for your front finger, and a good sharp backend for whacking somebody if you have too.
