my grinder build
here is my grinder build so far, it is made from 6061 aluminum as we have a bunch of it here in the shop(i am a research machinist at Cornell U.) the frame and base was waterjetted, a machine that we just acquired last yr. just waiting on a motor and contact wheel to finish it...while looking at it i was wondering if there would be interest in a bare bones machine just like in the picture to get someone started and dont have the means of building one, all the rest of the stuff - motor, contact wheel, drive wheel, tooling arm and such can be purchased for it, dont really know what i would charge for it as its just a thought right now but just thought i would share the progress!

If the price is right you can bet there will be demand.

I always find it amusing that a Grinder Build that has taken place in a machine shop has supper nice lines the edges are nice and square, all the cut outs are round smooth and or tapered . Yet the one thing that escapes the entire crew of the "Machine Shop" it to do and machining to the screws to recess them , any custom machine work for the fine parts , and most all that I have seen done use standard grade 5 bolts to put the things together , No machine screws, hex head bolts . Anyone else see this in these builds?

Very nice builds going on here. Would be so nice to have the resources available to do this.
