416 stainless over 1084 San Mai Hunter

Finally got some pics of my first attempt at 416 over carbon steel. Thanks go out to Brian for giving me the idea on welding it!

Well it's about time Just kidding you Ed.

That turned out nice. You can tell a difference between the 300 and 400 series SS.

The 400 series puts a silver line in the iron transition between the high carbon and the SS. Some pretty intersting things are going on at that transition.

Very nice Ed but the picture doesn't do it justice. I seen this knife in real and it is AWESOME.

Thanks for showing the finished knife Ed. Would've been a treat to see the finished knife. No wonder you get to use the ms stamp. Nice management of the quirks and details.

I'm hanging on to this one to do some testing.....the next one will be for sale, but it would be neglectful of me to sell this one without having carried it for a while to see how thing work out.

I think Bing is coming for a visit around the 12th. His Mrs. is seeing a Doc in Missoula, and they are staying at her folks place for a week or so.

Ed, You are correct the 12th is my plan for now. If that should change I will call you.

Tom, It would be great to see you again. You living in Great Falls now? Lucky dog you if you are.
