Bolster Thickness
I am goint to put brass bolsters on the knife that I am making. The steel is 1/8 inch thick and the blade is about 4 inches long. What thickness of brass would you use to make the bolsters out of?
Thanks for the help. Cal |

Either 3/16or 1/4 should be sufficient. Mike

Personally I would use 1/8, with a blade thickness of 1/8 you will get a fat looking bolster if it is significantly wider than the blade steel. Try 2 small pieces and hold them on either side and see how the thickness works for you.
