1st knife show

I am taking the plunge and going to take some knives to sell at a couple knife shows in April. Here are a few knives I have been working on for the shows.

Those look great. No reason for at least some of those not selling except for the economy. The show I went to last November was dead with no one selling. Weekend before last I went to another show and we got a big rush around noon on Saturday then things just stopped. I, along with others, didn't stay for the second day. Some had packed up before the end of the show Saturday. There were a couple of makers who did sell some knives though, unlike last November.

I'm not trying to discourage you; just letting you know that it's still kind of rough out there. You're also in a different part of the country so things could be different based on that. Good luck.

Doug

Had a great time at the gun/knife show. Sold one ats-34 hunter and 1 Damascus skinner. Also sold lots of stabilized wood and some mammoth ivory.

I really enjoyed it and learned a few things about setting up a table to sell knives. I told Bev that I would be happy to sell a couple.
I was set up beside 2 other great makers. Roger Hatt and Jay Kemble. We had a blast together and look forward to doing it again. Allen and Susan Neal also came around as well as Dennis Paish. We all went out for supper together Friday night and enjoyed it greatly.

Jim

I am glad you had a great experience at your first show.

I remember the first show I went to, I was Nervous as Heck. My first major Fly Tying Event I ever attended and I had my on booth. I did not know what to expect, but the people were just great and after a while, I started to relax and made a lot of good friends.

People can sense when you enjoy what you do!

Good luck in your future shows, and always show how much you love what you do.

Jeff
