pins and rods
what is the difference between a mosaic pin and mosaic rod? and wher/when is the appropriate use of each? thanks...

If there is a difference - and I emphasis if - then it would be in the size of the rod/pin. There is no standard for this I am aware of, generally, you can refer to any mosaic pin as a rod or a pin as you prefer.
If it's mosaic then it is made up of several small components. This puts a limitation on just how small a mosaic pin/rod cab be. In fact, the vast majority of them are 1/8, 3/16, or 1/4" in diameter. Such relatively large pins could reasonably all be called rods whereas very small wire like 1/16" seems more likely to be called a pin. Essentially, in actual usage, the terms are interchangeable..... |

I always thought of a rod as a long pin.You cut your 1" pins from a 12" rod.
