Question Boot knife?

Hello Steve,
I have been a lurker here over the years admiring all of the knives shown here and learning from all of the posts.
I decided to bother you because I just started an off the cuff version of the boot knife.
The material is 1" by 1/8" O1.
At the moment it is about 9 1/2" long. I think that is way too long.
Could you give me the proper dimensions, so that I can correct my project.
Any information from anyone would be helpful.
Thanks.
Fred

Cool, Fred. Happy to hear that you are making a boot. Which "Boot Knife are you referring to?" The "Loveless Boot," or the "Johnson Dirk?" Email your addy & I can send patterns, if I have what you need.

Steve,
When I asked the question, I did not know that the boot knife and the New York special were the same knife! Lol
I will send you my address and I would appreciate both patterns, if that is not being too greedy.
Thank you,
Fred

They are not the same knife. There is the Loveless 4.5" Boot, the NY Special, about a 3" blade and my Dirk which is about 4 1/4" long.
I'll send you all three patterns. You can see all three in my web site photos, which I just emailed to you.
Best of luck in your endeavors. Steve

Steve,
Thank you for the explanation about the models.
On Dentons B Loveless site, I downloaded a PDF photo from an old catalog that had all of his
knives. It is pretty hard to make out details from that.
I am bothering you a lot today, but do you still have a photo of the knife you identified as
a Wee Wilderness? I wanted to see that if possible
Thank you again for your help!
Fred

That Wee WI was just done once, I don't recall many details. I can email you a photo, however.
I'm sure the blade was about 4.5" - 5" long, just a smaller version of the full-sized knife. Probably really close to the size of a 'Chute knife.

I can't get it to open in the thread that you mentioned it.
Thanks again.
