grinder speed

Hi Steve,...was wondering what speed you run your cork belts..I'm improving with this technique, but got a ways to go yet. Thanks for your time, Tom.

Slow and fast. Generally, though, at top speed?get more work done that way, but the blade will get hot, so take care.

As I said above: "Slow and fast. Generally, though, at top speed?get more work done that way, but the blade will get hot, so take care."
I use a soft, 60 durometer smooth wheel, which helps, also, IMO.

It will get hot, I remember in Bob Loveless's book with Richard Barney. He made the comment "it would be nice if there was a cork belt made with no grit on it! Something like that...My mistake that was Corbet Sigman in the alternative mirror polish chapter. anyway Steve's method of grinding off the abrasive works great.
