Angry Another EBAY Scam!

Well folks, this one just won't go away.

Item number: 6593955227 is the collection of 49 knives made up of "Randall, Ruana, Hibben, Morseth, Fischer, Bone Knife", which was broken up and sold by the legitimate owner over a year ago!!!

This is yet another example of an eBay member having his or her identity stolen.

The location in the United Kingdom and the low number of feedback (2) is a good indication that the unwitting eBayer is being used.

The statement: "Note: This listing is restricted to pre-approved bidders or buyers only." is another clue that something is fishy, as is "Email the seller to be placed on the pre-approved bidder/buyer list."

The crook also placed a fake place to contact the seller, disguised as the legitimate way in two boxes in the description:

PHP Code:
Ask seller a Question

eBay Username
:

Email Address:

Question
It has a "SUBMIT" button so the email will go to the thief instead of the legitimate eBay member.

I believe the real "Ask seller a question" function has already been used to alert this person that their identity has been stolen.

Also, the scam artist says:

"WARNING: This item is being offered elsewhere and may be sold early if I recieve an undeniable offer to sell early." Of course, he's hoping that the early bird will get eaten by the worm.

Hopefully the auction will be shut down by eBay soon.

Cheers!

Moosehead

Hi Tracy!

Yup, it's gone. Well that is very good news, since it took no time at all for it to be shut down. I guess eBay was tipped off by the real member promptly.

But don't be surprised if this same "collection" appears again one day.

Cheers!

David
