Recurve Bowie
Pfffft, after nearly 3 months of hammering and grinding damascus bars, damascus blades, damascus blocks, preparing of damascus experiments and whacking on some wootz i finally found some time to really finish a complete knife WITH handle. Hip hip hurray!
It's a bowie with a recurve edge. The blade is forged from 51CrV4 (1.2241) spring steel with selective hardening. Guard and buttplate are from 500 year old wrought iron coming from wall reinforcements of a historical building in Aachen. The handle is made from copper (the ferrule) and old india stag. Hope you like it. Achim |

Achim, About time you made a knife. Surprized to see that with all the damascus you've been making you used one steel instead. Nice looking knife but then again all your knifes are excellent! I still haven't gotten around to trying the old steel you sent me but at least I haven't misplaced it.

Thanks, Raymond. But your knives aren't shabby either!
I had this blade on my shelf for a looong time, but i also still work with single steels now and then. Achim |
