Need help to identify this Japanese Knife

My Grandpa brought it back from WWII. Im having a hell of a time trying to find out anything about it. Can someone please help....Thanx

I've had to delete the pictures as they were hosted on a public server that had apparently been compromised as there were reports of porn and other unwanted pictures popping up with the knife pictures (see the last few posts in this thread)....Ray Rogers

Try posting over on "iKnives". Lot of knowledgeable collectors from all walks over there.

Cool relic knife.....don't alter in any way.

I believe it is Philippine, not Japanese.

My wild guess would be pre-1960... not an expert, but it has a definite resemblance to some dao I've seen.

Along with iknives, you might have better luck at swordforum.com

Hopefully, you're making a bad joke. There are many pictures there and I clicked several but didn't run into any porn. If you're serious be more specific about exactly what you did ...

No not making a bad joke, i clicked on the second picture and a new window opened up with a site about web chatting with women. I just went back through and clicked them all again and the only thing i was able to get to pop up was a add for wind powered turbines.

OK, my browser is very well protected and apparently was able to filter out what jdale saw. I just now switched to another browser and was able to get the wind farm pop-up and I suppose I would have gotten the porn popup he saw before if it were still available. I don't know exactly how this is being done but it is somehow piggy backing on those photos by way of the imagevenue.com public image servers.

Under these circumstances I'm going to remove the pictures and delete the thread. Sorry kalikid, I know it isn't your fault. In the future, try using the Attachment feature available through the Go Advanced to display your pictures. That way, only KNET servers will be involved ....
