Complete Dog
I thought you all would like to see the sheathes that Sandy Morrisey made for the "Bulldog" knife I made a few months back.
I spent the afternoon at Sandy's home in the mountains today and man what a treat. I really learned alot and Sandy you can rest assured it will not be my last trip!!! I had a ball! Next time I must meet "HELLENNN" Sandy has 3 more of my knives to do sheathes for; I can hardley wait to see them. Thanks Sandy for a great day. your friend, john costa |

Hey Alex, They just wish it was!!
For all of you that haven't had the pleasure of meeting Sandy in person you have/are really missing out. He's one sharpe craftsman, I should say Master Craftsman. Won't pull any punches but he's not "mean". In his words "I don't have time to sugar coat." He's is amazing to watch as he is very deliberate in his moves and turns out beautiful, sturdy sheaths while he's casually holding an conversation with you (true multi-tasker). {When I'm working in my shop a visitor could get really mussed up if he talked to me!(tunnel vision or something). } Can't figure how Sandy does it. Anyhow, you guys get the picture. He's one of those neat and talented guys you always wanted to meet and spend time with. John, you old goat roper............you went north to see Sandy and you didn't even invite me to go along!
Sandy, a word of warning.......John will clean your clothes if you don't watch out! Beautiful knife, John. Nothing compliments it more than the stunning work of Sandy. Congradulations to you both for a job well done. I don't know of any Georgia Bulldog fan that wouldn't be happy as a pig in mud to have that in his hands. I'm looking forward to seeing more great things from you both. Jayhawk John Athens, Georgia __________________ Never give up on your dreams. |

sheath tool info
The stamping tool used as a background on this sheath was a large "mulefoot" which covers a large area in jig time. The background in the logo itself is a fine line "matter" ! To preserve the lines of the sheath the fit was a friction type rather than a wet molding which actually has less retention of knife. The dyed portions of the sheath was done in Fiebing's Professional Oil Dye in the saddle tan color. The difference in the sheath body and logo background shading is due to the presence of the tooling. Final finish is Fiebing's leather shene and then the tool work is hi-lighted with Tandy's Hi-liter.. The stitching is by the Tippman's "Boss" harness stitcher which does a "so-so" job! Sandy
