Just a quick question.
I want to get ahold of a couple of the best quality sambar stag slabs that I can for a knife that I am having made for me. Lately I have heard people call the stag they use: premium, presentation grade, and exihibition grade. Can someone please tell what grade I should be looking for if I want the best I can get, and does anyone know where I can possibly get ahold of some? Thanks.

Give Texas Knifemakers Supply a call and tell them you want the best they have, they will take care of you.
Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you and I went to TKS together, we may pick out different pieces as "The Best". However, they do have a very good idea what knifemakers want. Last edited by Bob Warner; 08-03-2002 at 07:35 AM. |

Thanks Bob, much appreciated.
Any other suggestions? There must be more places than just Texas Knifemakers Supply. __________________ Avatar is my Wild Goo. |

Just thought I would let you guys know that I found a place with stag. At this point he only has a couple of carvers, some rounds and some scales, but he is expecting more in a month or so. The gentleman's name is Jeff Diotte and he has purchased Jim Downies knife supply business in Ontario, Canada.
His email address is jeffsupply@cogeco.ca __________________ Avatar is my Wild Goo. |
