Something from the Brazilia Custom Cutlery Show

This is from the table of Edson Vieira... and a bit of my own too.

First knife is 11" 52100 bowie camp knife and rosewood handle I made for personal use. I took it to the show to enter the cutting competition. It is stained cause it is in constant use.

The second is one of Edsons finest reproductions of the old sorocabana knives. It was his hunting knife for more than an year. It features cow bone and horn in a 5160 integral boster blade.

The third is an original sorocabana. It must be some 60 years old or more.

And the last one was an order from a USA costumer, featuring buffalo horn, german silver and 5160.

Comments always apreciated.

They all look great. I think the patina on that big bowie is plus in the looks department.

Jeff,

Once again you have proved that there is a great amount of talent there. I wish that I could be at the show just to admire it.
Very nice.

Very nice Jeff - I particularly like your big bowie - I hope to see more of your knives.

Since I got that bad verebrae in my lower back I have been slow to very limited forging.. I hope I can finish that little bowie fighter I have been working on... but I am a hobbist maker now so I have no real rush.

Those guys are really tallented. I am very proud to work for them.
It is a great inspiration for such a begginer like me.

Edson's work is particularly exotic, and very accurate as you can see on his reproduction.

I really like that skinner!! I like everything but the way the bolster is at an angle and also tapers down to the blade is really cool!!

No doubting the talent from your regions. Those are spectacular looking blades. I love the "cross-cultural" aspects of knives and these really get my blood pumping. Jason.
