Making a locking liner folder
This course takes a basic framelock style folder a little further by adding bolsters and handle scales.
Minimum required equipment:
Drill press, belt grinder, band saw, a Dremel type cutoff disk arbor and discs, T6 and T8 Torx screw#######, taps, drills, reamers, a countersink bit, miscellaneous hand tools, sandpaper.
Suggested equipment: Milling machine, buffing machine, sand and bead blaster, anodizer for titanium.
Materials required:
6AL/4V titanium sheet in two thicknesses, .050" and .100", or other bolster material can be substituted for the .100" Ti. Blade steel 1 1/4" wide, handle scale material, 3/16" and 1/8" straight pivot pins, a bronze bushing, .015" thick x 1/4" I.D. x 1/2" O.D. bronze or Nylatron washers, and 2-56 and 4-40 Torx screws. Liner standoffs may be used, or material for a backspacer.
Duration of course: 45 days.
Cost including the furnished CAD design is $68.95.
