Fun little project

Dont know if any of you have ever toyed around with these but they sure are a lot of fun. Once shown how I became addicted. All the Nephews want one now. Makes eating at scout camps a little funner. I made 4 sets yesterday and still think ive got to keep going to keep the youngins happy.

Hope you enjoy !

Shane

Shane,

You wouldn't mind posting a How Too would you?

I think I have it figured out but I am not sure.

Edited For

Wow that would be a really cool IITH. Everybody make a utensil, (Fork or Spoon, or Combo) it should be fairly easy and would let the creative juices get flowing. You could go from the basics to basket twisted sweep the floor damascus camp sets.

Just an Idea.

Thanks guys ! Let me tell ya, they are a blast to make and anyone can do it.....I did. Mace, Great name. I like it.

Shane doing a tutorial, hmmmm maybe this weekend ill do a step by step. You wont believe how easy they are.

Mike, that little tool gadget works wonders. Just put it in your pritcher hole on your anvel and as it drops down you place the ther end (that you can see) on your work and give a little tap at the top and it applies enough pressure that it holds great. The rail on top of the anvil is just used to protect the anvil when chisleing out the fork tines. As you can see that piece takes some punishment.

I even take it a few steps further and file the tines town smooth and then you can get read decorative with the handle...put a twist in it.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Ill work on a step by step. The guy that showed me how to do these could pop one out in about 10 min. Ive got it worked down to about 20. Doesnt take long to make a bunch of Boy Scouts happy.

Shane

Shane:
Are you using some type of ball form to round the bottom of the spoon? just curious how you get the bottom radius . aReally nifty idea! Bet them Boy Scouts have a ball with them, might even qulify them for a merit badge if you let them help!

God Bless
Mike

When I first looked at the picture, I thought the holddown was part of the spork, looked awkward as heck to eat with. Now that I realize how it really is, it looks pretty cool. What kind of steel is your holddown made from? I made one from a gigundus nail, but whatever kind of steel it is didn't work well for keeping it's shape and holding tight.
