Oregon Skinner......
This is another blade from the saw steel Indian George had given me. The blade is 3 1/4" with an overall length of around 8". The handle is a really old weathered piece of elk stag. Used wagon wheel wrought iron on this one. Its got alittle more heft than the last one I made but does feel really good in the hand........

Ray, I been meaning to tell you, I have been looking at your pics now, and just have to tell you how I respect your feel for craftsmanship. ...those bolsters and pommels for instance. It looks like you hand file those. Some makers would turn them on a lathe, and call 'em perfect. That stuff hurts my eyes. ...Your work has a rhythym, a natural variation that gives the eye a resting place. The hand of the craftsman is so much cooler, but it is hard to convey to some one who doesnt get it. It's all an aesthetic issue, and some folks are forever calling other peoples knives bad, 'cause they dont get it.

Richard, Your comments are greatly appreciated! I want to say more but my mind isn't working at this time. Been fishing for 11 hours and I'm just beat. The 3 of us didn't catch a thing.....
