Helllllooooooo Johnny!

Johnny comes in here with two guns blazing! Two absolutely gorgeous folders, and an eye-grabbing pic on his own! Great knives and nice camera work. Darn Texans always stealing the thunder!

Welcome to the forums!

Wow

I love the fluting on the bottom one. Clean and sharp.... looks like it took a long time do, but it appears to have come out really nice.

That knife is sexy yeah baby!

Those are both really nice. Really like the damascus on the bottom one. Is that something new Devin Thomas is making or is it someone elses?

Raymond, the bottom picture with the fluted MOP has Devin's Vines and Roses damascus blade and bolsters. The top picture has my Random Raindrop damascus blade, accented with Jerry Rados ladder pattern bolsters, and Tapioca walrus ivory scales.

The bottom folder is just ---- perfect. The fluting is just right and adds the perfect accent.

If you have a chance I would be curious to know what method you used to blue the bottom folder.

thanks,
Richard

Richard, the bottom folder blade is double high carbon damascus, so the black that you see comes just from the ferric chloride etch, it isn't blued. The bolsters aren't heat treated, so they don't etch as dark, and are lightly cold blued.

Your knives, and photos are pressing ALL of my buttons, big time!
