Olympic Torch Visits Manti

FYI: Manti's on the map! The Olympics in Utah have certainly been exciting and to have it travel down Manti's Main Street was quite an historic moment for those of us who live here.

Wilbur Braithwaite, our neighbor, was chosen to carry the Olympic torch. He certainly deserves this great honor. Wilbur is a Manti native who has given most of his life in service to his country, the community, and mostly, the youth of Manti. A WWII vet, and Purple Heart recipient, he has coached most of the people in town in one capacity or another. He coached basketball for years and still, in his 70's, coaches the Manti high Schol Tennis team. Many state champs have come from his program. Every person who's had anything to do with "Coach" is the better for it.

We love him and it was exciting to have the torch come trhough Manti, and especially when it was carried by Coach Braithwaite.
