Here is one of my favorites. Just because it is so darn sweet and simple. No I do not own it, but keep the pic in my wallpaper rotation, just for the drool factor.
Oops forgot to add, this is a Bill Moran Coffin Bowie.

Thanks for posting that pic Ron. Much better shot. I really like the shape and flow of that one. Nice, clean and simple. The notch is a nice touch.

I can't remember where I got that pic. I have posted the the who's whats and wheres of it before. I do know according to some experts it is considered a fake. To that I humbly submit this pic for your drooling pleasure. A pic of James Black posing with a similar piece, altho a bit more fancy. Lets try to pick out some features to maybe incorporate in future projects. Domed pins, wrap around butt guard, sway back with clippoint. More than likely a coffin handle due to the shape of the butt. The blade shape is reminisent of the Moran coffin above in my mind. Altho the clip appears not to be as long in the old photo. any thoughts?

Wikipedia is where I got that pic. Altho the name is associated with "encyclopedia", remember anyone can put up a page and anyone can edit it, so take what you read there with a grain of salt. We always grouse about that lame China bowie they have up there as an example of a Bowie knife. I wonder if that pic could be changed? Here is a pic of another coffin made in New York marked, Alpha, Gravely and Wreaks. So called because it resembles a guardless coffin stuck in the sash in a portrait of the Cherokee Chief, Teh-chee.

The only measurements given is for the blade. 8 1/2"x 1 5/8". Yes the book belongs to me, by Adams, Voyles and Moss. The price is enough to anyone. The Bowie Book The new Flayderman book is a little easier on the pocketbook and is next on my list. I do wish I would have ordered it sooner and gotten a first edition.
Do I think it is worth it? I think it was well worth the 150.00 it originally went for. It IS a page turner, full page pics of some of the most beautiful knives in history, with text on what is known about them. Yes, it was worth it
