advice
Hey guys
New over here at this section. I am thinking of getting a switchblade for nostalgia reasons. In other words, I just want one. I know nothing about them. I visited a site that had them for about $60 and up for the "Italian Stiletto". I guess that's right. I would think that all switchblades are not the same. What are the basics I should know before I buy? |

Hello
Glad to see you here, it's a great place to learn a lot. There are a lot of different switchblades on the market today. To get an idea of what's available and different price ranges I would suggest you go to Bladeauction.com and look around.

My advice - beware!! After you buy your first, it can become addictive. They get more and more expensive, and you buy more and more often. I am just beginning to part with my own production automatic knife collection. I have switches ranging in price from $35.00 - $650.00, all in mint condition. I collected for 18 years, and bought everyting I could get my hands on. I'm keeping only my favorites and grudgingly letting go of the rest. Good luck!

Hey!
My advice - BEWARE!!! Once you buy your first automatic knife, it tends to become addicting. They become more expensive, and you buy them more and more often. I am selling my collection of production autos, and have knives ranging from $35.00 to $575.00 -all in mint condition. You name it, I've bought it. Good luck!!

This is my first post,so hello everyone.Automatic knives are very addictive,
if you want a good one for EDC i would suggest a boker magnum. They are extremely durable and well made. They are also very reasonably priced. If your looking for a good quality dress knife there's alot to choose from. I like frank and armando beltrames knives they are really nice and are well priced also. |

I am right with you on switchblades. There is nothing like an automatic knife. But before you buy one, check on the laws for your state. In some states you may as well be packing a loaded gun as to carry a switchblade. It doesn't make a lick of sense to me but few things do. Because of the law in my state I carry an assisted opening knife. While not the same, it does fill the void. Kershaw?s Ken Onion assisted opening knives are nice and as fast as some automatics.
