folder maker

Any of you Texas folks familiar with the name Henry Heller? I bought a partially finished slipjoint last week and the seller gave me that name, said he was a deceased Texan.
The folder was pretty good work. If I can find out some background, I may buy the rest. Thanks bruce

Bruce, Henry Heller was a well known maker from Houston, TX. I know that he was well established back in 1983 when I made my 1st knife. He made excellent folders, his fit and finish was as good as anyone's at the time. Henry died a few years ago while hunting on a deer lease down in South Texas.

I can't give you anymore information personally, but have a lot of friends in Houston that knew him well so I can try find out more if you need me to help you.

What a way to go, eh?
Next time you're talkin with yer friends down there, Johnny, ask if you would, what steel he worked with. I'd sure appreciate it.
There were some others there that were quite interesting, including some pearl inlays.
Thanks Johnny. bruce
