Austin Show!
Just wondering how the turnout was for the last Central TX Knife Show, in Austin . I have not been able to attend, due to college and health problems. I would like to get a table, if available, but thought I would ask for opinions first.

How much is a table? I plan to attend this year, looking forward to meeting makers in Texas.

Tables $140 each. I'm debating whether to get a table here or wait until the Spirit of Steel Show. I guess it depends on what my inventory is. I'm traveling quite a bit through the first week of July, so I'lprobably hold out until SOS. I didn't have a table last year, so I can't speak as to sales volume, but I was there for about 4 hours. I would say "steady, but not packed" when describing the show. I emailed Chris a few weeks back and he said they've added a several new makers already, so he's expecting the tables to sell out well before the show date. |

where is the spirit of steel show located? I don't drive yet, so I'll only be able to attend those close by the buda/austin area.
Thanks ~Brian |

It's inbetween Dallas and Fort Worth. Well worth the drive! Talk your parents, friends with cars or neighbors into taking you...you'll love it.

I've reserved a table at the Central Texas Knife show, Austin, TX. July 29th. thru the 31st.
See you there, Brian. Look for an old, stooped over fat man. How are you doing with your barlow? |

Very Slow last year!
Hello,
I had a table at the Central Texas Knife Show last year, and if you are interested in selling knives, I would recommend not going. Hardly anyone was there, and as soon as you thought you saw someone that might be interested in your knives, you realized that they had a table at the other side of the room and had gotten tired of sitting down. If you just like meeting and greeting other Texas makers, it is a great place to go, but for selling, there was noone there. If you ask me, it seemed like Chris spent more time trying to get his tables sold, then advertising to get buyers in the door. That is just my opinion and the feeling was pretty widespread, except as I said those people that don't care if the sell any knive.......I won't be going back. Have a GREAT day & Don't get too hot!
