Central Texas Knife Show

I had great time at the Knife Show this last weekend meet alot of great people. I came away with some good information on how to improve my knives.
Dwayne Dushane won the Best Folder at the show and after looking at it I can see why. Great knife and the file work was out of this world.

My wife won the award this weekend for the Best Candy at the Show.

Me too, had a great time visitin with everyone and pickin the other maker's brains for tips. Now I have lots of new things to try. There was lots of awesome work there to drool over and aspire to. Great fun!

It was a good show this year. A lot of familiar faces and plenty of new ones. For a change I actually got to talk to some people.
I even got to go without all the kids.

Sales were pretty good all around. Some did better than others. We saw the biggest crowds on Friday and Saturday. There was the usual share of "tire kickers".

We had a good Board meeting and General meeting. there are some changes coming up for the TKCA and the newsletter will be going out the end of this week.

I agree that Pauline had the best candy.

Carlton, the word going around the show was that the knife Dwayne won best folder with was actually a kit knife with plastic handles that he put his fancy filework on. Any truth to that rumor?

If I heard right, Texas Knifemaker Supply is going to be giving away a car at each general meeting .

I seem to remember Jim saying something at the board meeting about a car & a boat w/trailer.

As for Dwayne's kit knife... he may need to produce pictures in Mesquite.

I missed the meeting Saturday nite, I am really excited about having a chance to win a boat. Thats really generous of Jim to do that. Maybe he is just trying to get rid of that boat he nearly sank the other day.
