Remember When?
Just wondering, how many of you remember the worthy cause auctions we did a few year s back? The one that sticks out in my mind was the Shane Ivie auction.Paul and Sandy each did a sheath for the knives I donated{they wouldn't have sold otherwise}.There was a real outpouring of support for that family that made me proud to be a member of this group. Texas Jack did a great job leading the charge.I give him a hard time but he does alright for someone from Baja Oklahoma...just rambling, T Wolfe

Yes, you are rambling, T.Wolfe!!
I was just thinking the other day that it's been awhile since we needed to run a "worthy cause" and I'm VERY happy that it hasn't been necessary. We had a couple of members that had some terrible issues and I'm glad we could do some little things to help out. As for "Baja", I'm most happy to be on this side of the Red River! __________________ God bless Texas! Now let's secede!! |

Dear friends, Tom and Jack----How well I remember those auctions and how worthy they were! I will always be a willing participant in any way that I can.
At the moment, I no longer have the "Tiger by the tail", but have been reduced to a pu##ycat dragging a plastic hose wherever I go. Had a little uninspired vacation at the local physicians club with a bout of pneumonia, high temperature and low oxygen level (In the 80's)----to state that I felt lousy would truly be an understatement. I currently use oxygen 24/7, have home health care nurses come in several times a week---I live alone-----and am trying to figure how not to break my neck over that **** hose---!!! My bone breaker seems to think that my prognosis is good and that in a few weeks I will dispence with the Oxygen. Still able to get into my shop and do a little leather diddling which keeps me from being bored stiff----------------the old faht---Sandy __________________ Martin (Sandy) Morrissey Master Leather Craftsman 1105 Stephens Road Blairsville, GA 30512 706-379-1621 |

Really sorry to hear about your health, Sandy. Please know that you're in our thoughts and prayers.
I know that oxygen hose is a pain for a leather man like you, but the knife forgers are all thinking, Hey, I could use that to crank up the heat! Get well soon, amigo! __________________ God bless Texas! Now let's secede!! |

Hey Friends,
Sandy is doing pretty good. Doc hasn't weened him completely off the O2, but Dad's looking fit enough to whup most of his Boys. RLo (Rick Lowe), Dougie (Doug Adams) and I spent most the day with him yesterday. Local friends stopped by pretty regular during the day as well. Good spirits and typical sharp n' witty Sandy prevailed. We even did a little in the "leather shop", solved the world's problems a couple of times in several ways. Covered a lot of good memories and caught everyone up to date on recent happenings. During all this we still got some of that special priceless leather working advice from the pro (can't buy in the store, get it from a book, or learn in a class kind of stuff!). Another one of those "very special days" we get so few of. Love you Dad. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H Last edited by Crex; 12-22-2011 at 05:30 AM. |
