SA80/AR mag holders (SA80 is UK army rifle )

Continuing on my journey from Knife Kydex into Gun Kydex I thought i would try a rifle mag carrier as i have some old 30rnd English (Radway Green) and Colt mags in a box of old army kit

So wanted to keep the width down But put in Adjustable retention will try some non adjustable and narrower versions later
I also wanted to Stack mags as Pouches usually take more than 1 mag

So a Wrap with a 3/8" wood spacer and a front and back pad for Chicago screw Clearance (1st one in CB kydex didn't have the front pad)

Ive put a higher back on these as a index for putting the mag in so these are handed really tho with mount holes on both sides they could be swapped to right side carry (left handed shooter)

Ive stuck to Tek lok spacing of a 3/4" grid of 5.5mm holes so any std hardware can be used plus all my stuff is 3/4" or 1.5" on center just makes life easier i feel

back has a 3 wide by 4 high grid front is a 3 x 3 grid matching the lower set of the back

here a a few pics of the 3 off concept forms (ok 4 s retention points maybe overkill again on 3/4" centers)

shows 2 x 30rnd SA80 mags bolted together the front is dropped lower and mounted with a MOLLE lok

the other is a single COlt mag on a 2" belt tunnel loop with a GLock 17 mag on the front (hopefully a handy combo as out military has jsut bought 25000 G17s to replace the Browning Hi powers across the board in all services)
