I am a long time collector and a beginning maker. I live in Carrollton so if anyone on the forum is near and wants a new student or has time to share info, let me know.
Thanks in advance- Beau |

Welcome to the forums Beau. When you say "New Member", did you join the Guild at the last meeting (I couldn't make that one)?
We do have a member over in Carrollton, his name is Doug Adams. Hopefully he will chime in here. He gets together on occasion with some other fellas in the area and has a little forge party. He's a good guy to be around (most the time). I will poke him with and email. You are welcome to my shop for a visit, but it's a pretty good haul from C-town. We do have the Winter Guild meeting coming up in a few weeks down in Statesboro. Most of us make it an overnighter. Check the "Sticky" at the top of this forum for details. Also Trackrock is coming up in April (also a sticky above). Plan to attend if you can. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H |

Thanks for the info Carl. Maybe I can meet up with Mr. Adams here in Cton one day. When I was saying new member, just a new member to the forum. Is there something else I can join? Let me know and I am all in. Beau

This sub forum was a gracious gift from Alex/KNF to the Georgia Guild. We also have a website www.georgiaknifemakersguild.com
14 of us Georgia knifemakers got together many moons ago and started the Guild. Having had the honor of serving as first VP and second P, I have had the great fortune to meet and become personal friends with some of the best custom knifemakers in the SE as well as many related artisans. The Guild has grown to around 75 members and continues to grow. We are a teaching guild, members range from top professionals to novices. You are most welcome to attend any of the meetings and meet the members, enjoy the demos and discussions, and see what we are about. We'll even feed you. The next meeting is in a couple of weeks (see sticky above). If you hook up with ol' Dougy, he can fill you in with a lot more details and also tell you more about Trackrock as well. Hope to get to meet you soon. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H |
