last weekend
Last weekend I got to spend with the family and making a couple of knives.
The top one is 8 3/4 total length, 4 3/4 from bolster to tip, with a (roughly) 3 3/4 cutting edge. The bolsters are brass, pinned in place, and the wood is lignum vitae. The sheath is veg tanned leather. Handle and bolsters are dovetailed. The other knife is a paring knife that I made for my wife. It's 6 3/4 total length, 3 1/8 blade, 2 3/4 cutting edge. the scales are maroon micarta. Both blades are ground from ats-34. On my knife, my name and the year are etched on the blade, and my wifes, her name and the year. i don't know what to call the larger knife yet. lemme know what you think. I know my photography needs work, but it's to late to care about that right now. Cheers. Trenton |

They both look pretty good, especially the dovetailed bolsters. As the maker though, I think you should have put your name on both of them. You could always put her name on the other side or engrave it onto the handle or something if you want it personalized for her.
